Social security system for company cars
The new law concerning CO²-contribution for company cars was published in the Belgian Bulletin of Acts on December 31st 2004. The law prescribes that as from January 1st 2005 a CO² contribution is due for company cars used for private ends. That contribution is a fixed monthly amount, based on the CO²-emission of the company car in question.
Calculation CO²-contribution
As from 1st of January 2011, in order to calculate the CO² contribution, the indexed
amounts need to be taken into account:
Calculation of annual amount for petrol vehicles: |
= [( CO² exhaust x 9 EUR) - 768] x health index September 2010
health
index September 2004
114,08 |
Calculation of annual amount for diesel vehicles: |
= [( CO² exhaust x 9 EUR) - 600] x health index September
health
index September 2004
114,08 |
The index of September 2004 was 114,08 and augmented as from September 2010 to 128,89
The formulas mentioned above are on an annual basis: you need to divide the outcome by 12 to arrive at the monthly amounts.
